DIMAPUR, JAN 29 (MExN): Barring S.S. Khaplang, all top leaders of the NSCN (K) have reportedly fled Myanmar in the wake of a military attack on its general headquarters in that country.
The group’s information and publicity kilonser, A.Z. Jami, confirmed the military raid on the camp, according to a news report carried in today’s edition of The Telegraph.
Meanwhile in a separate report filed today by IANS, a dozen Myanmarese soldiers and three NSCN (K) cadres died in fresh fighting. A spokesman of the S.S. Khaplang faction of the NSCN (K) said Myanmar’s military junta had burnt down the outfit’s general headquarters and two other camps in that country’s northern Sagaing Division.
