Students of Modern College undergoing internship at Big Bazaar.
DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 5 (MExN): Students of Bachelor of Vocation (B. Voc. - Retail Management & IT) at Modern College are undergoing internship stints across various retail stores in Kohima and Dimapur.
A press release from the college informed that students from the 5th, 3rd and 1st semesters are getting trained in retail specific job roles – Sales Associate, Department Managers and Store Managers. Student-interns learn how to interact with customers, several operations related to stock such as stock control, stock taking, stock inward, opening and closing of store, and cash handling.
“They also appreciate the importance of punctuality at work, time management, communication, leadership and team work abilities which they learn while interacting with customers and co workers. These are important skills which help them in becoming good professionals and also go a long way in building their life skills,” the press release added.
The internship is an integral part of the B.Voc. programme focusing on the need of the students to acquire first hand experience in real work environment apart from their theoretical knowledge. The partnering organizations are Big Bazaar, Westside in Dimapur and Bambusa in Kohima.
