Medziphema, December 7 (MExN): The two day Inter-ward Volleyball Tournament, Medziphema Town, was declared open today by Miathou Krose, Chairman, NHHDC Ltd, Nagaland, at Thehouba Ground, Ward- 5.
Speaking as the Chief Patron at the inaugural ceremony, Miathou lauded the efforts of both the organisers, Medziphema Town Youth Organisation (MTYO) as also all the different participating teams. While sharing his experiences of serving the town as a youth official decades ago, he stated that it is never easy to organise such events and went on to affirm that Medziphema Town youths have however, continued to be town volunteers be it in security matters, anti social elements or public welfare programs while encouraging the youths to carry on with the legacy.
"All activities are a display of character and more so, good character is vital for long-term success even in games and sports", he advised, and added that "it is not about winning but participating in the true spirit of the game."
The program was compered by Kevisese Krose, President, MTSU, while invocation of blessings was administered by Anungba Imsong, Pastor, MTABC. Asazo Talie, President, MTYO, delivered the welcome address and Letginlal Singson presented a special number.
The prize sponsors of the league-cum-knockout tournament include Zasivi Meyase, PS to Dy. Speaker, and Megohulie Vüprü, Founding member, NDPP.
