General Secretary of the NSCN (IM), Thuingaleng Muivah left for New Delhi from Dimapur on July 20.

Muivah, who is also the chief negotiator of the Indo-Naga Peace Talks with the centre, was flown out in a chartered plane from Dimapur Airport on Monday afternoon. Sources informed that Muivah was accompanied by his wife and seven other members of the NSCN (IM).

While reports in national media claimed that the NSCN (IM) leader was “unwell,” sources said that the purpose of his trip to New Delhi is for a 'routine check-up.’

Muivah's departure on Monday comes after the proposed meeting with Governor RN Ravi, who is also the center's interlocutor of the Indo-Naga Peace Talks, was called off last week.

While it was reported that the meeting in Dimapur was called off citing Muivah's health reasons, sources in the NSCN (IM) said that the General Secretary's health is not a concern

On being asked when Muivah would be returning to Nagaland, they declined to comment further, stating that it depends on the duration of the treatment as will be prescribed by the doctors there.
