Naga leaders, organisations condole Kuchi Rangkau Zeliang’s demise

Dimapur, October 10 (MExN): Political leaders, organisations and community bodies in Nagaland have expressed grief over the untimely demise of Kuchi Rangkau Zeliang, son of Deputy Chief Minister T R Zeliang, who passed away on October 9 at Olive Hospital in Dimapur.

DUCCF: The Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen Federation (DUCCF) described the death as a heartbreaking tragedy and an irreparable loss. The federation expressed solidarity with the grieving family and prayed for strength, courage and solace for them.

JD (U): Janata Dal (United) Nagaland State Unit president and MLA Ar Jwenga Seb also mourned the sudden demise of Kuchi, describing him as a gentle soul whose warmth, compassion and vibrant spirit touched everyone who knew him. Seb prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul.

G Kaito Aye: Nagaland PWD (Roads & Bridges) Minister G Kaito Aye expressed profound shock and grief over his death, describing Kuchi as a gentleman known for his humility, warmth and loving nature. Aye said Kuchi was cherished like a son by him and extended his deepest sympathies to the bereaved family, praying for strength during the difficult time and eternal peace for the departed soul.

Moatoshi Longkumer: Advisor for Labour and Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and Excise, Moatoshi Longkumer, said Kuchi was a young man full of life, energy and enthusiasm. Remembering his vibrant personality, passion for sports and zest for life, Longkumer said it was painful to see a promising life cut short when there was still so much ahead of him. He conveyed his condolences to the family and prayed for strength and comfort.

NPF Minority Wing: The NPF Central Minority Wing, through its president Bishnu Bhattacharjee, said Kuchi had been closely associated with the wing and had stood by its members as a guardian, offering guidance and support whenever needed. Describing him as a noble person and a promising young leader, the wing extended condolences on behalf of its central and divisional units.

NSCN/GPRN-R (Akato): The NSCN/GPRN-R (Akato), through its Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP), described Kuchi as a prominent entrepreneur known for community leadership, youth development and promotion of games and sports. It also recalled his role as co-founder of YouthNet, a non-profit organisation in Nagaland, and said his death was a loss to the Naga community. The organisation prayed for solace for the bereaved family and loved ones.

RSON: The Rongmei Students’ Organization Nagaland (RSON), through its president Kambui Dangmei, described Kuchi as a God-fearing person, philanthropist and successful businessman who had made valuable contributions to society. It said his passing was an irreparable loss to the bereaved family, the Zeliangrong community and Nagas as a whole.

Rev Obed Haokip: Rev Obed Haokip, convenor of the Zeliang-Kuki Christian Pioneer Monument Committee (ZKCPMC), also conveyed condolences, saying the committee was keeping the bereaved family in its thoughts and prayers. He specifically prayed for strength for Kuchi’s wife and the entire family to bear the loss.

S Richard Humtsoe: S Richard Humtsoe, national secretary of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), expressed heartfelt condolences to the Zeliang family, describing the loss of a beloved son as an immeasurable tragedy. He said his thoughts and prayers were with the bereaved family, relatives and all those who knew Kuchi.

WCH: The Western Chakhesang Hoho (WCH) remembered Kuchi as a humble person with a gentle spirit and deep faith in God. Describing him as an entrepreneur, sports enthusiast and youth leader, the hoho said he had made meaningful contributions to youth development in Nagaland. It also remembered him as a devoted husband to Neitele and a loving father, and prayed for comfort and strength for the family.

ZMO-N: The Zeliangrong Mipui Organisation Nagaland (ZMO-N) expressed profound grief and extended condolences to Deputy Chief Minister T R Zeliang and his family. The organisation said the loss of a beloved family member brought immense sorrow and prayed that the Almighty would grant the family strength, courage and comfort.

The organisations and leaders prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family during this period of grief.
