NAGALAND ASSEMBLY ELECTION 2023:   First-level checking of EVMs, VVPATs begins

In the presence of Deputy Commissioner, Tseminyu, Dr Zasrkuolie Chusi IAS, District Administration staff, and SDPO Tseminyu, the details of EVMs/VVpATs along with consumables were shifted from Kohima to Tseminyu on October 11. The details include ECILM3 CU 74 (list of unique IDs enclose); ECILM3 BU 74 (list of unique IDs enclose); ECILM3 VVPATs 74; Power pack for VVPATs 30; Power pack for Cu 30; Pink paper seal 220; Dummy Ballot 20; Thermal paper Roll 30. Kohima, October 12 (MExN): In view of the upcoming General Election to Nagaland Legislative Assembly, 2023, the First Level Checking (FLC) of Electronic Voter Machine (EVMs) & Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPATs) has started in Nagaland from October 11 and will continue till October 19. 

It will cover all the District Headquarters of Nagaland, stated a press note issued by V Shashank Shekhar, IAS, Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland.

Deputy Commissioners and District Election Officers will be coordinating the FLC at the district level. FLC is the process of full functionality test check of EVMs/VVPATs as preparatory step for the conduct of forthcoming Nagaland Legislative Assembly Election. 

Altogether, 34 EVMs and VVPATs Engineers from ECIL (Electronic Cooperation of India Limited), Hyderabad headed by P C Mandal, DGM as State Coordinator are deputed for the conduct of FLC of EVMs/VVPATs. 

The Election Commission of India has also deployed eight EVM Nodal Officers from Mizoram, Jammu & Kashmir, Maharastra, NCT Delhi, Assam, Punjab, Sikkim and Manipur for inspection of FLC preparedness and quality check.
