Nagaland: Chizami SU commemorates International Literacy Day

Kohima, September 9 (MExN): The Chizami Students’ Union (CSU) under Phek district commemorated International Literacy Day on September 8 last.

Through this platform, it initiated an online competition for its members with a view to encourage the young students’ community to discover their inborn talents and creativity through co-curricular activities.

CSU General Secretary Khrolhiweu Tsuhah (Awi) said the competition also aimed at giving opportunity to the students’ community to discover and learn new things during the lockdown period due to the global COVID-19 pandemic that has brought everything to a stop for months together.

The competition was marked by various activities like, art, essay and poetry writing, photography, virtual speech and storytelling (Folktale), providing the young minds the opportunity to engage themselves in constructive reflection on current challenges and opportunities while also visualizing the future through their works.

Altogether, 107 students participated in various categories of the competition.

The winners were awarded a cash prize of Rs. 1500 and Rs. 800 for the first and second position respectively along with certificates.
