Nagaland: DLF Trophy unveiled; Club Jerseys launched

Dimapur, September 5 (MExN): The unveiling of trophy and the launching of the participating clubs’ jerseys for the upcoming Dimapur Football League (DFL) was held today at Tourist Lodge Dimapur.  

The unveiling and launching programme was held during the joint meeting of the organizers and eight participating clubs along with Dimapur District Football Association and Dimapur District Football Referee Association.  

A press release from the organizer informed that during the meeting, DFL Convenor, Shiyeto Wotsa briefed the club members about the various rules and regulations of the league and said that the organizers were trying its best to promote football and players.  

He also requested all clubs to come in full uniform during the opening ceremony to be held on September 14 at DDSC Stadium at 1:00 pm where Minister for Higher & Technical Education Temjen Imna Along Longkumer would be the special invitee.  

Shiyeto disclosed that there would be six individual prizes including the best goalkeeper, midfielder, defender, highest scorer, young emergent payer and man of the tournament.  

DDFA Vice President, Tsenthungo Lotha also said that the DFL has been placed in safe hands under the leadership of Shiyeto as the convenor. He said that the DFL was for upcoming players and urged all participating clubs to maintain discipline and uplift the status of DFL.  

DDFRA President, Shiyito appealed for support and cooperation from all the clubs during the tournament. He also distributed by-laws for the tournament.
