Appeal to care for planted saplings Kohima, June 18 (MExN): The NBCC (Sanitation Committee) in collaboration with the Kohima Municpal Council has planted eight hundred numbers of Taxus Bacatta and ninety Rhododendrons saplings in the New Secretariat Area, Census Office, Y Junction and Assam Rifles Main Gate area with the sole intent of beautifying and face lifting the image of the city. In this regard, the KMC has appealed to all citizens to desist from spoiling the saplings and instead render care towards the plantations and support each other in this cause.   KMC inform Kohima, June 18 (MExN): In pursuance of the Chief Secretary's directive on observation of thematic cleanliness campaign under the Swachh Bharat Mission (June 1-15), the Kohima Municipal Council along with Angamimiapfü Mechü Krotho and Project 72 hours conducted cleaning of Noune Badze and Chaügei Park on June 15 at 6:00 am, informed KMC Administrator, Kovi Meyase.  

Saku Mission College is ‘Tobacco Free’ Dimapur, June 18 (MExN): Saku Mission College, Dimapur also known as SM College has gone tobacco free. The declaration ceremony was held on June 13 in the college Auditorium. Dr Arenla Aier, Principal of the college highlighted the efforts the college put in during last few years to make it happen. Dr C Tetseo, District Nodal Officer gave a PowerPoint presentation on the guidelines of tobacco free institution and also on the ill effects of tobacco products on health. Anti tobacco Committee was also inducted during the function. This is the third college in Dimapur to have gone Tobacco Free.   State Empower Committee for NeGPA meeting held Kohima, June 18 (MExN): A State level meeting of the State Empower Committee for NeGPA was held in the APC Conference hall on June 16 with regard to development of Nagaland State Agriculture Portal. The meeting was chaired by A Chumremo Odyuo, Secretary Agriculture. The members present included K.D Vizo ITS, Commissioner & Secretary, Department of Information Technology & Communication, Kezüngulo Medikhrü, TD & State Informatics Officer, NIC, Nagaland (NSC), Nekhashe Sema, Secretary Fisheries, J Lunkim, Chief General manager, BSNL Nagaland, Dr. DJ Rajkhowa, Joint Director, ICAR, Jharnapani and Members from participating departments that includes Agriculture, Horticulture, Irrigation and Flood Control, Soil & Water Conservation, Fisheries, Land Resources.
