Nagaland Police says COVID-19 vaccination mandatory for all personnel

DIMAPUR, APRIL 9 (MExN): The Nagaland Police today informed that COVID-19 vaccination will be compulsory for all police personnel in the State.

A press release from the Superintendent of Police (Crime) & PRO, PHQ, Nagaland further informed that the Nagaland DGP and senior officers of the PHQ were administered their 2nd dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

It meanwhile stated that all SOPs for prevention of COVID-19 like wearing of masks etc are still mandatory for all, even for those vaccinated.

“The vaccine is taken to help our immune system to grow antibodies against the disease. Once the vaccination regime is over, your body’s immune system will be ready to deal with COVID-19 virus in case you get infected. This is the most effective way to kill the virus completely,” the press release stated.

It further stressed that vaccinations are a time tested method to manage pandemics. “Historically, vaccination was the way humanity defeated many deadly diseases like Small Pox, Measles, Polio etc. Today new born babies are given vaccines for the most deadly diseases. So it is a proven methodology,” it asserted.

It directed all unit commanders to ensure that all personnel are vaccinated.
