The 19th annual conference of Association of Oncologists of North East India (AONEI) 2024 will take place in Kohima from February 2 to 4.
The conference will comprise of a Pre- Conference Live Workshop on February 2 at Putuonuo Hospital Kohima and other programme from February 3 to 4 at De Oriental Grand, Kohima.
The inaugural programme cum AONEI 2024 oration will be held on February 2 from 4:30 pm onwards.
The orator for this year is Dr CS Pramesh, Director, Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai.
MLA Dr Tseilhoutuo (Ato) will be the special guest for the inaugural function while V Kezo, Commissioner & Secretary for Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland will be the guest of honour.
AONEI President Dr Jadunath Buragohain will address the conference.
As AONEI approaches 20 years of existence, it celebrates by organizing AONEI 2024 under the theme “Expanding Horizon- What’s Known & What’s’ New.”
Stating that its conference coincides with the World Cancer Day on February 4, AONEI stated “We envision that our programme will serve as a catalyst to educate and create awareness among the medical fraternity, the government and the public, in line with the World Cancer Day 2022-2024 theme “Close the Care Gap.”
AONEI is the largest Northeast India oncology organisation conceived in the year 2004 with the goals of improving the standard of oncology practice in the region through exchange of scientific knowledge, collaborative work, continuing medical education programs, symposiums and workshops in different parts of the region and community work.
