Kohima, December 13 (MExN): A 10 day National Integration Tour (NIT) has been undertaken by Spear Corps, Indian Army for the students of Loyala Higher Secondary School, Zakhama, Kohima district.
A press release received here stated Lt Gen HS Sahi, AVSM, YSM, SM, General Officer Commanding, Spear Corps, flagged-off NIT scheduled to visit Kolkata, Shillong and Guwahati from Rangapahar Military Station, Dimapur.
The NIT is organised under Operation Sadbhavna that comprises of a total of 20 students, 15 boys and five girls, alongwith three teachers from Loyala Higher Secondary School, Zakhama.
The tour is aimed at providing an opportunity to the students hailing from Kigwema, Tsisinyu, Zakhama, Mima and Kezo villages in the Kohima district to venture beyond Nagaland and explore historical, cultural places in cities and visit institutions of national eminence at these locations, it stated.
During the tour, the students apart from visiting places of interest will also interact with Governors of West Bengal & Meghalaya and Director General Assam Rifles. The team which will undertake activities like sailing on a cruise in the mighty Brahmaputra, travelling in a ropeway will be flagged in on December 23 by the Governor of Nagaland.
