National level championship on android app development held

  Dimapur, September 23 (MExN): A two day National level championship programme on android app development on September 22 and 23 was organized by the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, School of Engineering & Technology, Nagaland University, Dimapur. It was attended by 59 participants from various institutions.   According to a press note, with the growth of the smartphone market and the goal towards providing single interconnected devices the use and application of apps especially in Android enabled devices have increased tremendously. Today 82% of the market share in the smartphone market is powered by Android.   In the inaugural, Professor SK Sharma, Dean, NU-SET, highlighted on the importance of Android and also motivated the participants that through such workshop they can not only be employable but become employers by having such knowledge.   The resource person, Rajnish Kumar, Senior Research Engineer, Techtron Technologies, spoke on the difference between Android operating system and IOS and the software required to develop Android Apps. The participants got hands on experience to develop apps during the practical session.   Later, a competition was held and the top 10 participants were felicitated and will be given an opportunity to participate at technical festivals at various IIT's organized by Techtron Technologies.
