National symposium held in Kohima Science College

Kohima, June 25 (MExN): A one-day national symposium on ‘Chemical education in self reliance: A global perspective’ was held at Kohima Science College, Jotsoma on June 23. The symposium was sponsored and organized by the CSIR-NEIST and the International Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) in association with the chemistry dept. of Kohima Science College, Jotsoma.

A press release received here stated that many eminent scientists, professors and scholars from different research institutes in the country participated and delivered the talk on the topic. Prof CV Sastri Scientist IITG, Ershad Abubacker Scientist RSC, Dr P Ramakrishnan Scientist CSIR-IITR, Prof RH Duncan Lyngdoh NEHU Shilong, Dr Rupam Sarmah Gauhati University, Prof Amrit Puzari NIT and Prof Jhimli Bhattacharyya NIT were the main speakers of the symposium. 

‘Many young scientist and researchers from various research institutes presented the latest research work and their findings,’ the release stated.

Altogether 60 scholars including master students participated in the symposium. The event was coordinated by Dr Ravinder Rawal, Principal scientist CSIR-NEIST, Prof Amrit Puzari, Dean NIT, Nagaland and Dr T Tiakaba Jamir, Associate Professor, Kohima Science College, Jotsoma.
