The Northern Angami Youth & Sports Association (NAYSA) Group D today conducted Chiechama Chapter of the 1st Presidential Trophy 2024 of NAYSA-D at Chiechama Local Ground.
Gracing the event as the special guest, Mhasimhalie Mathew Yhome, president Kohima District Football Association (KDFA), commended NAYSA-D for developing a culture of sports at the grassroots level, adding that it would push the youngsters forward.
Urging the youngsters to take advantage of the platform being provided by NAYSA- D, Yhome reminded that the notion of “Jack of all Trades” would not take anyone forward.
“Don’t involve in all the fields,” he said and asked the youngsters to be specific and pursue their talent with utmost sincerity and dedication.
“Don’t play sports for time pass anymore,” he told the youngsters and asked them to take up sports with seriousness to excel at the national and international level.
Yhome maintained that NAYSA-D is fortunate as Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, who also heads Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) including Abu Metha, Secretary General NOA also from this range.
“Let us take advantage of the opportunities” he said and at the same time urged upon the sports lovers to give their best and bring laurel to the community.
Further, Yhome challenged the participants of the 1st Presidential Trophy to keep up the spirit of sportsmanship till the conclusion of this league tournament by November.
Meanwhile, around 50 youth joined the Dart’s theory and practical session, conducted by Team One Nagaland (TON) and supported by Dartskart, Fun Tree Crew and Zumvii Prwintex.
Earlier, NAYSA-D assistant general secretary Neilalie Pielie chaired the ceremony while welcome address was delivered by NAYSA- D general secretary Kezhangulie Kire.
Rev. Levi V. Rio, pastor CRC Chiechama invoked God’s blessings while Avizo Metha presented a special number.
Vote of thanks was proposed by NAYSA-D wrestling secretary Tseivilie Sopfiinuo.
Thepfuneizo Metha and Neizokhrienuo Metha compered the ceremony.
