NBOCW training & GST workshop conducted

  Kohima, November 2 (MExN): The Nagaland Building and others Construction Workers Welfare Board (NBOCW) training and GST workshop organized by Nagaland Contractors & Suppliers’ Union (NCSU) in collaboration with Departments of Labour and Taxes, Government of Nagaland was held at Hotel Japfü, Kohima on October 31.   During the first session, keynote address was delivered by Commissioner & Secretary Labour Department Anenla Sato, wherein she presented power-point about the importance of builders and construction workers. She stated about the need for employer to register the workers while also encouraging builders to maintain quality workmanship.   Labour Commissioner, Nungshiyanger encouraged builders to register and contribute for the upliftment of our state as we still are far behind from the rest of the country.   In the technical session was lead by Project Officer-cum-Secretary, NBOCW Welfare Board, T. Chubayanger while stating that the construction workers is one of the biggest industry, challenged the gathering to join hands with the department to bring changes in the society as most of the local workers are seasonal workers and need to improve working system. He shared about importance of working timing, safety of workers, benefit of workers in various scheme.   NCSU vice president KL Setuo chaired the first session while NCSU president Pele Khezhie delivered presidential address. Prayer was offered by Pastor of Rengma Baptist Church, Dr Kenny Tsela while Secretary Imsunok Jamir tendered the vote of thanks.   The second session on GST was led by Superintendent of Taxes Orenboni and Yanbeni was very brainstorming for the contractors, builders, suppliers, businessmen to be aware of timely, monthly return file. It was followed by interactive session participated by the members, which was very beneficial.   NCSU Secretary Hoshito chaired the second session while vice president Tseibou tendered the vote of thanks. Meanwhile, the NCSU extends profound gratitude to all the resource persons, departments, bonafide members of Union for success of this great event.
