KOHIMA, AUGUST 19 (MExN): The Nagaland Contractors’ & Suppliers Union (NCSU) on Wednesday called on Swarai Meru, Engineer-in-Chief (E-in-C) of the Nagaland Public Works Department (NPWD), at the PWD Office in Kohima following his assumption of charge as the head of the department.
The NCSU delegation was led by its president Pele Khezhie and general secretary John Kath. The delegation extended warm greetings and congratulations to Meru on assuming office and conveyed its best wishes for a successful and productive tenure.
During the meeting, the Union discussed matters concerning contractors and suppliers in the state and stressed the importance of continued coordination, communication and cooperation between the NPWD and the contracting community.
The NCSU expressed hope that under Meru’s leadership, the department would further strengthen its engagement with contractors and suppliers and foster a conducive environment for the smooth and timely execution of public works across Nagaland.
The Union also assured the Engineer-in-Chief of its full cooperation and support in the discharge of his responsibilities, stating that it was ready to work closely with the department in the larger interest of infrastructure development and the people of Nagaland.
The meeting was held in a cordial and constructive atmosphere, with both sides emphasising the importance of mutual understanding and continued engagement for the effective implementation of public works in the state, the Union said in a release issued by its general secretary John Kath.
