Participants of the NEISSR annual sports meet which was held from October 31 to November 1.
DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 6 (MExN): The North East Institute of Social Sciences & Research (NEISSR) organized its 4th Annual Sports meet on the theme “Social Change” at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Campus, Dimapur from October 31 to November 1.
The sports event was declared open by Fr. Varghese, Rector, DBIDLas the Special Guest. Speaking on the occasion, Fr. Varghese motivated the students about the quality of leadership. He encouraged the trainees to develop the skill of leadership in the form of sports, other co-curricular activities and also in academic to excel in life. He also emphasized on youth empowerment and the importance of choosing the right leader for a better chance and socialization.
Both indoor and outdoor games were played. The trainees were divided into four different team comprising 25 members each. Every group member participated well keeping in mind the spirit and value of sportsmanship. Friendly match were also played between the students and faculties.
Dr. Fr. C.P Anto, Principal NEISSR, speaking on the closing day, congratulated NEISSR Students Council and the sport in charge for planning out the Programme systematically in the best way possible and for bringing the team spirit among the trainees.
He asserted that the people in the society can be better served if youthkeep physically and mentally fit and games and sports are best treats foryouth leaderships to face present day challenges of the society, also ways of building ‘we-feeling’ among the students in increasingly individualistic society.
