IMPHAL, NOVEMBER 3 (NNN): The North East Students' Society Delhi University (NESSDU) organised the 5th freshers’ meet cum get-together on today .The event was graced by Thokchom Meinya, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha as the chief guest and Oscar Fernandes, MP, Rajya Sabha as the guest of honor. The event was held at Shankar Lal Concert Hall, North Campus, Delhi. A statement from NESSDU said that, Comfort Ringkamei, the president of the organisation along with the executives of the society put together a spectacular series of events ranging from issues faced by the students of the Northeast in Delhi University to cultural exhibitions of the different cultures of the NE states. "It is a day where the young NE freshmen in the university comes together under one banner discovering a new circle of fellow students and seeking advice and encouragement from senior students in the national capital," NESSDU said in the statement. More than a thousand students all around Delhi participated in the event, the NESSDU added. The NESSDU executives then "wish all the freshers the best in their endeavour and looking forward to more of such events in the future".
