Maligaon, May 1 (MExN): In a move to enhance border and railway security, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), in coordination with the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Border Security Force (BSF), carried out joint patrolling operations in sensitive areas near the India-Bangladesh border.

According to a press release from NFR, the coordinated operations focused on railway sections close to the international boundary, aiming to boost surveillance and deter unlawful activities along the tracks.

Key activities included a security check at Badarpur railway station in the Lumding Division, and a joint motor trolley inspection between Silchar and Katakhal, involving scrutiny of railway infrastructure for signs of intrusion or tampering.

In the Alipurduar Division, foot patrolling was conducted between New Maynaguri and New Domohani, while the Katihar Division saw similar patrols from Haldibari Zero Point to Haldibari railway station—areas identified as being close to the border.

NFR stated that these joint efforts are part of its ongoing commitment to securing railway property, infrastructure, and passenger safety in coordination with central and state security agencies.
