NFR Updates: Cancellation, short termination & rescheduling of trains

Maligaon, April 25 (MExN): In view of the derailment of an engine of a goods train at KM 110/7 between Jatinga Lampur and New Harangajao station under the Lumding division of NF Railway, running of trains have been affected. Senior railway officials along with men and machinery are already at site for speedy restoration of train operation. As a result of the derailment, few trains are being cancelled, partially cancelled and rescheduled. 

Cancellations: 05628 Agartala-Guwahati Special scheduled to leave on April 25; 15615 Guwahati-Silchar Express scheduled to leave on April 26; 05627 Guwahati-Agartala Special scheduled to leave on April 26; 13175 Sealdah-Agartala Kanchanjungha Express scheduled to leave on April 27; 12519 LTT-Agartala Express scheduled to leave on April 28; 14620 Firozpur-Agartala Express scheduled to leave on April 29.

Short terminations: 12503 Humsafar Express of April 23 at Lumding; 15611 Rangiya-Silchar Express of April 25 at Lumding; 15616 Silchar-Guwahati Express of April 25 at Ditokcherra; 15618 Dullabcherra-Guwahati Express of April 25 at Badarpur; 14619 Agartala-Firozpur Express of April 25 at Badarpur; 13174 Agartala-Sealdah Kanchanjungha Express of April 25 at Hilara; 12520 Agartala-LTT Express of April 25 at Damchara.

Rescheduling: 12508 Silchar-Trivandrum Express of April 25 rescheduled to start at 06-00 hrs of April 26; 07029 Agartala-Secunderabad Special of April 26 rescheduled to start at 15-00 hrs; 15616 Silchar-Guwahati Express of April 26 has been rescheduled to start at 10-00 hrs

 

Summer Special Trains

Few more summer special trains will operate to meet the rising demand of passengers during summer rush. Northeast Frontier Railway is ensuring that free drinking water is available across all the stations to keep the passengers hydrated during their journey in this scorching summer. 

Accordingly, train no. 06569 (SMVT Bengaluru-Guwahati) Special will depart from SMVT Bengaluru at 00:30 hours on every Sunday from April 28 till May 19 to reach Guwahati at 05:30 hrs on Tuesday. In return direction, train no. 06570 (Guwahati-SMVT Bengaluru) Special will depart from Guwahati at 06:00 hours on every Wednesday from May 1 to 22 to reach SMVT Bengaluru at 10:00 hrs on Friday.

Another, train no. 09101 (Vadodara - Katihar) Special departed from Vadodaraat 23:30 hrs on April 24 (Wednesday) and will reach Katiharat 16:30 hours on Friday. In return direction, train no. 09102 (Katihar – Vadodara) Special will depart from Katihar at 15:00 hrs on April 27 (Saturday) to reach Vadodaraat 07:30 hrs on Monday. 

Train no. 04010 (Anand Vihar Terminal-Jogbani) Special will depart from Anand Vihar Terminal at 23:45 hours on every Tuesday from April 30 till June 25 to reach Jogbani at 05:20 hrs on Thursday. In return direction, train no. 04009 (Jogbani-Anand Vihar Terminal) Special will depart from Jogbani at 09:00 hours on every Thursday from May 2 till June 27 to reach Anand Vihar Terminal at 16:05 hrs on Friday. 

NF Railway has also decided to operate summer special trains between Katihar and Anand Vihar Terminal. The summer special train bearing no.05721/05722 (Katihar-Anand Vihar Terminal-Katihar) will operate for ten trips each in both directions. Wait listed passengers of other trains travelling in this route can avail the opportunity to travel with comfort during this summer in this special train.

Special train no. 05721 (Katihar-Anand Vihar Terminal) will depart from Katihar at 17:25 hrs from April 24 to June 26 on every Wednesday to reach Anand Vihar Terminal, at 18:50 hrs on Thursday. In the return direction, train no. 05722 (Anand Vihar Terminal-Katihar) will depart from Anand Vihar Terminal at 23:25 hrs from April 25 to June 27 on every Thursday to reach Katihar at 01:30 hrs on Saturday.

The special trains will consist of AC 3-tier, Sleeper Class & General Seating Coaches for the convenience of passengers. During its both ways journey, the special train will run via Naugachia, BarauniJn, Chhapra, Gorakhpur Jn, GondaJn, ChandausiJn and Hapur Jn etc. Tickets are available.

 

Budget-friendly meals 

The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has decided to make available affordable budget-friendly economy meals and packaged drinking water to passengers at all railway stations and long distance trains across its jurisdiction. 

These services are available at 9 locations of 8 stations over NFR, such as Guwahati, Kamakhya, Rangiya, New Coochbehar, Katihar, New Tinsukia, Naharlagun and New Alipurduar, including on summer special trains, allowing passengers to experience quality service throughout their journey. 

Indian Railways has taken an effective initiative to provide the passengers of the general coaches with the economic meal at an affordable price of Rs 20 and snacks would cost Rs 50 with glasses of water of 200ml at affordable prices. IRCTC vendors are stationed with trays, ready to assist passengers with food packets and drinking water. 

This service was piloted at about 51 stations last year. Building on that success, Railways has significantly expanded the program, with counters now operational at over 100 stations and nearly 150 counters in total across Indian Railways. The initiative is slated for further growth, encompassing even more stations in the near future. 

 

GM NF Railway inspects 

Kamakhya-New Bongaigaon 

Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, General Manager of NF Railway conducted a thorough inspection of the Kamakhya-New Bongaigaon (via Goalpara) section under Rangiya Division. Neeraj Gupta, Divisional Railway Manager of Rangiya with senior officials of headquarters and division accompanied the General Manager during the inspection. The GM inspected the enroute stations, took stock of the progress of the doubling and electrification works in the section along with safety related gears at the railway stations. He interacted with the railway officials at the station and took feedback on various issues and enquired about their awareness on various safety-related items.

The GM conducted window trailing inspection. He inspected crucial areas such as the marshalling yards, coaching yards, minor & major bridges, running room, health unit. He conducted thorough inspection of the ongoing activities and examined the developmental plans for these sections. Shrivastava inspected the plans of new station building, crew lobby, Foot Over Bridge, platform and other passenger amenities works. He also inspected the ongoing station redevelopment activities on the New Bongaigaon station. New Bongaigaon station under NF Railway will be redeveloped under Amrit Bharat Stations Scheme for providing better, additional and enhanced passenger amenities. Works for the up-gradation have already been started.
