North East Career Club formed

Kohima, October 11 (MExN): A non-governmental organization called as North East Career Club (NECC) has been formed with primary objective to promote career development, employability skills, job oriented vocational courses, livelihood projects, skill development.  

The club aim to create a career awareness about the newly emerging careers in the present world of work, to provide professional career guidance and counseling services to the members of the Club, to explore service placement opportunities in collaboration with professional and technical training institutions and industries, to promote employability skills, to enable event citizen employable, to eradicate unemployment crisis, to create and promote skill oriented career opportunities.  

It also aim to promote School-Industry Linkage, to promote livelihood programmes for Youth, to launch Life Skills Education programmes, to assist the governments in formulating policies and programmes on vocational education, vocational guidance and career counseling in schools, colleges and universities in north east region, to form a Career Club in schools, colleges, universities in north east region.  

It shall work closely with the government and the private agencies for vocational training and livelihood programmes.  

NECC shall function in north east region of India, namely, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim.  

The head office will be located at Guwahati. The branch office of the Club can be set up anywhere in the north east states.  

Membership of the Club is open to anyone who is desirous to promote his or her own career development and work for promotion of others' career development particularly contribute to career development of the students and the youth. Membership is expected from students, parents, teachers, professionals like counsellors, doctors, engineers, professors, sportspersons, businessmen, social workers, politicians, educated unemployed youth, house wives, skilled workers like carpenters, hair dressers, beauticians, dancers, musicians and anybody any citizen from anywhere can become a member of the Club.  

Last week we signed an MoU with an international Company- Spearson India Education Service Pvt. Ltd. Bangalore to work together to promote Career Guidance and Counselling in north east region.  

NECC will also collaborate with national agencies like Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development under the Ministry of Youth Affairs Govt of India, Assam Don Bosco University, Guwahati, Mental Health Institutes like Mind India, Guwahati, Teacher Education Colleges like Modern Institute of Teacher Education, Kohima, Mount Mary College of Teacher Education, Chumukedima and many other colleges and schools in north east region.  

NECC is targeting to enroll atleast 10 lakhs members.
