DIMAPUR, NOV 23 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has been pushing for third party intervention in the peace talks with the Centre, this time through the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organisation (UNPO), according to reports. The NSCN (I-M) claimed that the organisation has “strongly endorsed” third party intervention, under the supervision of the UN. The third party, according to the outfit, should act as a monitor or mediator during the talks. Meanwhile according to a news report in a national daily, Muivah’s recent note to Padmanabhaiah, asking to set the dates for talks before the winter session of Parliament begins on Wednesday, has bombed. The new labour portfolio given to Oscar Fernandez, who heads the group of ministers for Naga talks, has become a hurdle for the outfit, as the minister will get lesser time to concentrate on the issue.
