The NSCN (IM) and the representatives of Government of India (GoI) held a 'cordial' meeting today in New Delhi.
The NSCN (IM) was led by Ato Kilonser Th Muivah while the GoI was represented by two serving Additional Directors of the Intelligence Bureau, AK Mishra and North East in-charge Arvind Singh.

Apart from the Muivah, who is also the chief negotiator, nine senior members who are part of the NSCN-IM's talk team, were present at the meeting.

While the agenda of the meeting on Monday could not be ascertained, sources informed The Morung Express that it was "just a casual briefing."

According to other reports, after today's 'cordial' meeting, talks would be held 'on a daily basis'.

Monday’s meeting signals the resumption of formal talks between the two sides in Delhi since October 2019, though few rounds of ‘informal’ talks were held earlier this year before the COVID-19 pandemic took centre stage.

A team of nine senior members of the NSCN (IM)’s Collective Leadership reached Delhi for the talk on August 7.

Muivah, who was already in Delhi along with his support staff, joined the team.

The meeting was held amid speculations of strained relations between the GOI interlocutor to Naga Peace Talks, RN Ravi and the NSCN (IM).

However, the Interlocutor and Nagaland Governor RN Ravi also landed in New Delhi on August 10.

Meanwhile, the Naga Hoho members are also reported to be leaving for New Delhi next week.
