Dimapur, October 13 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN (Yung Aung) has issued a warning against individuals impersonating its members and engaging in illegal extortion and fraudulent tax collection in Kohima and Dimapur districts.
In a statement issued by its MIP, the group said it has identified one such fraudster operating under the alias ‘HK Sema,’ whose real name is ‘Kakto Chopy.’ According to the NSCN/GPRN (YA), Chopy has been actively collecting large sums of money from government departments in Kohima while falsely claiming to represent the organisation.
It stated that despite previous warnings, the individual continued his illegal operations. NSCN/GPRN (YA) said it has taken serious note of his activities and issued a final warning to him to cease all operations immediately or face capital punishment. It also cautioned that the same consequences would apply to any other individuals engaged in similar activities under the name of the organisation.
The group has urged all relevant government departments and business establishments in Kohima and Dimapur districts to remain vigilant against such imposters.
