Tuensang DLSA members during their area tour of sub-divisional level under Tuensang District to provide awareness on RTE, Food Security Act, Legal Services and Welfare from October 2-14.

Kohima, October 20 (MExN): The Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) conducted a weeklong awareness programme on ‘Lok Adalat, Legal Services and Welfare Schemes under Various Departments’ across the state from October 12-16.
Held under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority as a apart of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Legal Services Week, it conducted at various Sub-Divisions including Churches/NGOs and Stakeholders by District legal Services Authorities (DLSA) with special emphasis on Right to Education/Food Security Act/Health Schemes and Social Welfare Schemes, an NSLSA release informed.
Mokokchung DLSA: Para legal volunteers from Chuchuyimlang town Legal service organised legal awareness programme for youths of Chuchuyimlang town on October 16 where more than 60 youths focusing on health and family welfare schemes, Social welfare schemes, right to education and Food security Act.
Kiphire DLSA: A legal awareness programme was held at Kiusam town, EAC Headquarter, the last administrative headquarter under Kiphire District, located between Noklak District and Myanmar on October 16. Altogether, 70 people from 14 villages participated.
At the event, Phuleto Yeptho CJM cum Secretary DLSA Kiphire spoke on Lok Adalat and Legal Services while Bendangwati Sangtam, Retainer Lawyer, DLSA Kiphire shared on ICPS and Mid-Day-Meal Michael Aye, APP Kiphire talk on Health and Family Welfare Schemes and National Food Security Act.
The DLSA also organsed another legal awareness programme at Seyochung town on October 12 where CJM Yeptho spoke on Lok Adalat and Legal Services and Aye elucidated on Health and Family Welfare Schemes and National Food Security Act. Sangtam, Retainer shared on the topic ICPS and Mid-Day-Meal at the programme with 75 attendees.
At another such event, a Legal Aid Clinic was also inaugurated at Sitimi Headquarter on October 13 where the DLSA Kiphire Secretary and others spoke on topics shared on other days. All together 70 participated in the programme.
Tuensang DLSA: A team led by Secretary Kumdilong Kessen had an area tour at sub-divisional level under Tuensang District to provide awareness on RTE, food security act, Legal Services and welfare schemes under various departments. The DLSA visited six areas including Kuthur, Saddle, Yakur, Shangpur, Shamator village, and Shamator town and also distributed various pamphlets to the general public.
Phek DLSA: In collaboration with Administration Department, Pfutsero, the DLSA organised a seminar at ADC Conference hall, Pfutsero. Where Wekhrope Marhu, Panel Lawyer shared on Right to Education and National Food Security Act while Keneinuo Swuro, Project Assistant deliberated on 'Lok Adaalat, Legal Services and Schemes under Social Welfare Department'. Altogether 49 representatives from 26 village attended the seminar.
Wokha DLSA: It conducted awareness on Lok Adalat, Legal Services, RTE, Food Security Act ,Health & Welfare Schemes with NGO's, Church Leaders of Subdivision of Nyiro ,Chukitong, Englan, Sungro, Ralan, Wozhuro, Lotsu-Lower range, Middle range, Wokha Circle at Sankiton Village on October 16.
Zunheboto DLSA: A Legal Awareness programme was held at Sumi Baptist Church Zunheboto Prayer Fellowship, South Point (E) colony on October 13.
Resource Person Easter H Yepthomi, Retainer Lawyer, ZDLSA spoke on RTE, National Food & Security Act, Social Welfare schemes and Health Schemes. Around 60 person participated the programme and leaflets were also distributed.
