Y Nuklu Phom from Nagaland was honored with 'Changemakers for Commons’ at The Commons Convening at Ambedkar International Center, New Delhi on 27 August.  He was honored with the 'Changemakers for Commons’ for exemplary grassroots work on community conservation. 7 People from India were shortlisted under the changemakers.

The Commons Convening is organized by partners including Common Ground, Foundation for Ecological Security (FES), Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), UNDP India and Collaborating for Resilience. The event seeks to elevate the significance of commons in public discourse, promoting civic engagement and inspiring collective action.

Phom shared the community transition from hunting to wildlife conservation in Yaongyimchen village, Longleng district which has resulted in larger conservation of Amur falcons. The event is from 27-30 August. Phom is also a recipient of the Whitley Award for biodiversity conservation and the Team leader of LEMSACHENLOK, Longleng.
