One killed in gunfight at Sangsa village

Kohima, March 4 (MExN): A member of NSCN-K (Ang Mai) was killed in a gunfight with the Assam Rifles in Sangsa village under Mon district, stated an update from PRO, HQ IGAR (North) on Monday. “Acting on specific intelligence inputs on movement of cadres for carrying out abduction and extortion in the general area of Sangsa village, in Mon district, Nagaland, Assam Rifles launched an operation, on the intervening night of 03-04 March 2024,” the PRO stated. “On intercepting the cadres, and on being fired upon by them, Assam Rifles troops retaliated. In the ensuing firefight, one insurgent has been killed while another insurgent has been apprehended,” it informed.  The PRO also stated that “One automatic rifle, one automatic pistol, grenades, ammunition and other war like stores have been recovered. As per intelligence inputs, insurgent cadres are reported to be from NSCN (K-Rebel) faction,” the PRO claimed.
