DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 25 (MExN): The Power Department has informed that there will be a total power shut down in Dimapur on September 26 from 6:00am to 10:00am for consumers whose power is fed by the Metha sub-station. A press release from Er Imsenkaba, Executive Engineer, Dimapur Electrical Division said that this will be done in order to undertake jungle clearing/cutting in order to provide stable power supply. The department therefore asked all customers in the affected areas to extend cooperation and bear the inconvenience during the shutdown period.
Meanwhile the department also informed that there will be power shut down in Niuland area from 6:00am to 9:00am with effect from September 28 to October 3. The shutdown has been necessitated for construction of New 33kV line linking between 66/33/11kV Nito farm Sub-station to ongoing construction work at 33/11kV, 2.5MVA Sub-station, Niuland, a press release from Er A Oho Achumi, Executive Engineer, Electrical Division Chumukedima informed.
