PUNGRO, January 7 (MExN): Pungro Village Citizen Sporting Club (PVCSC) emerged as champions of the 4th VE-Vu Cup Football Tournament which was held at Public Ground Pungro village. PVCSC beat Aspen Sporting Club in the final to be crowned the champions.
Zhahlese of PVCSC was awarded the golden boot while golden glove was awarded to Litsemew of Old Vongti FC. Aselen of Young Brothers FC was adjudged player of the tournament. Altogether, 9 teams participated at the tournament
Earlier, T. Torechu, Advisor for Evaluation, National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), Nagaland, was the chief guest at the inaugural of the tournament on January 4.
Speaking on the occasion, Torechu said that, the state government is taking keen interest in sports activities and urged participants to keep aloof from drugs and alcohols in order to compete in various levels.
