
CHÜMOUKEDIMA, FEBRUARY 3 (MExN): After a poor start with 28 runs and losing 2 early wickets whjile trailing Arunachal Pradesh by 98 runs on Day 1, Nagaland on Saturday made a remarkable comeback courtesy of Sedezhalie Rupreo 53 runs, Tahmeed Rahman 23 runs, Khrievitso Kense 19 runs, Jaganath 19 runs and Jonathan 18 runs.
Sumit Kumar emerged as the top performer with the bat scoring 158 runs in 179 balls to compile a total of 342 runs for Nagaland in 81.2 overs losing all wickets. Shekar Sihori with a 3 wickets haul was the top performer from the Arunachal bowling unit.
However, due to bad lights, the 2nd day match had to be called off with Dorin batting on 21* runs (not out) and Kumar Nyompu batting on 08* runs (not out) and Arunachal trailing by 188 runs.
On Day 3, Nagaland will be looking to bowl out the Arunachal side and avail the bonus points. Their hopes of qualifying to the playoffs will also depend on the Meghalaya versus Sikkim match taking place at SICA ground, Sikkim.
