Rio mourns demise of Dr C Tarep Ao

Kohima, November 19 (MExN): Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio has mourned the demise of Dr C Tarep Ao, retired Civil Surgeon and Proprietor of Oriental Nursing Home Dimapur, who passed away on November 18 in Dimapur.


Hailing from Mopungchuket village, Dr Tarep did his early schooling from Impur Mission School and matriculated from Mokokchung Government High School in 1951, read a condolence message from Rio.


In 1965, he became the first Indian Medical Superintendent at Satribari Christian Hospital and thereafter in 1967, he joined Nagaland government service and served till his retirement in 1988 as Civil Surgeon Mokokchung.


Upon his retirement, Dr Tarep established the Oriental Nursing Home and continued to serve the people. He was a prominent citizen of Dimapur who was known to provide free consultations to full-time religious leaders irrespective of religion. “His contributions to the Government and yeoman service to the people will be remembered in the days to come,” Rio stated.


The Chief Minister along with his wife and family conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family, and prayed that the “Almighty God” bestow them with strength and solace, and further prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
