RPF-NFR rescues 4 minors, arrests 3 traffickers

Guwahati, June 7 (MExN): The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has rescued 4 minors during routine checking at different trains and railway stations and also arrested 3 for alleged human trafficking, an official release informed. 

The first rescue was made on June 2 when Sub Inspector along with staff of RPF post, Guwahati conducted a joint checking with member of Railway Child line at Guwahati station against human trafficking. 

One minor girl was rescued during the operation, informed the release from the NFR CPRO.

On June 3, another minor girl was rescued during a checking under the supervision of Sub Inspector of the RPF Meri Saheli team, Rangiya.

A team of RPF also rescued one minor boy from The Northeast Express while performing their duty on June 4.

The rescued minors were handed him to Railway Child Line/Guwahati, Childline/Kamrup and Childline/Barpeta respectively for safe custody and further course of action, the release said. 

On June 5, Head Constable along with Constable of New Maynaguri RPF Outpost also detected one minor girl with three male persons at New Maynaguri Railway station sitting in a suspicious manner, it informed. 

 On interrogation the minor girl stated that she run away with the three male persons, all belonging to Katkina Iswaripur village under Magrahat Police Station in South 24 Pargana (West Bengal) District.

 The matter was informed to the parents of the rescued girl and suspecting it to be a case of human trafficking, the three were apprehended and handed over to Officer Incharge/Maynaguri/Police Station for necessary legal action along with the rescued girl, the release added.
