DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 5 (MExN): The Rising Peoples’ Party (RPP) today termed the Nagaland Department of Under Developed Areas (DUDA) as the “pocket money department of the Nagaland Government.”
A press release from the RPP stated that under the Underdeveloped Area Programme (UDAP) and Border Area Development Programme (BADP), the Central Government released Rs. 43. 83 Crore approximately for the year 2019-20 for the development of eastern Nagaland and other pockets in the state.
While perusing through the 121 work-orders, the amount sanctioned was calculated at Rs. 43. 83 Crore approx, the RPP informed. However, it said that the RTI mentioned the released amount as only Rs 32.69 Crore.
“The pattern is the same- only the same firms keep on getting the work-orders year after year. This is ample suggestion that there’s a syndicate in the state government,” the RPP alleged.
The RPP had earlier released the work-orders and the lists of firms which were awarded contracts for 2011-12. The party will publish the work-orders awarded between the years 2012-2013 and 2018-2019 in Facebook and other social media platforms, it informed.
The RPP appealed to the voting public in eastern Nagaland to be vigilant and give a “People’s Report” regarding the implementation of these projects. “If there are any anomalies, the party can be reached at risingpeoplesparty@gmail.com,” it informed.
