Port Blair, October 9 (MExN): V Kashiho Sangtam, former minister and non-official director of Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR) under the Ministry of Railways, delivered the introductory address at an orientation programme held in Port Blair on October 8.

The programme began with registration and formal proceedings, bringing together participants from diverse backgrounds for discussions aimed at strengthening institutional collaboration and capacity building.

In his address, Sangtam emphasised the strategic importance of logistics and connectivity in driving national growth. He also highlighted the role of grassroots empowerment in building resilient communities.

The orientation programme served as a platform for exchanging ideas on inclusive development, innovation and cooperative engagement, with discussions focusing on strengthening collaboration among institutions.

Sangtam’s participation underscored the significance of logistics, connectivity and community empowerment in the developmental prospects of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
