Jakhama, February 10 (MExN): St Joseph’s College (A), Jakhama bid farewell to its outgoing principal, Rev Fr Dr Sebastian Ousepparampil in the College Indoor Stadium on February 10. 

The college in a press release stated that the programme was attended by Most Rev Dr James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima, SJC Governing Body members, Catholic Association of Nagaland, village elders, fathers and sisters, teaching and non-teaching staff, and student leaders and special invitees. 

Speaking on the occasion, which also happened to be his 75th Birthday, Fr Dr Sebastian said he enjoyed working in the college despite the challenges and that all the achievements made were due to team work of the members of the college. He would always carry the Josephites in his heart.

His most Rev Dr James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima also spoke during the occasion. 

Earlier, the programme started with invocation from Rev Fr C Joseph, counsellor, SJC followed by welcome speech by Sr Dr Ranit, SABS, Vice-principal, SJC. 

Speaking on behalf of the faculties, Capt Regina Razousinuo and Dihe Mao, assistant professors highlighted on the achievements of the outgoing principal and said that the feats of getting the grade ‘A’ from UGC-NAAC team, ‘A++’ from the AAA team of Higher Education, Government of Nagaland and obtaining the Autonomous status could not have been achieved without the leadership of Fr Sebastian Ousepparampil.

Fr Dr George Keduolhou Angami who has been the Vice-principal is now appointed as the new principal. Also Fr Binoy Joseph has been appointed as the new administrator in place of Fr Benny Varghese.

The programme was chaired by Thejanuo Fidelia, Asst Prof, Department of Commerce, SJC.
