Badminton coaching  camp  held

Mokokchung, April 26 (DIPR):
The month long statewide talent search Badminton Coaching camp for under-10 was concluded at Indoor stadium Mokokchung on 26th April 2011. The camp jointly sponsored by State Department of Youth Resources and Sports and Nagaland State Badminton Association, which started on 8th April 2011 was attended by 97 children from various schools in Mokokchung district. The coaching camp was also co-hosted by Mokokchung District Badminton Association and was conducted by State Senior Coach, K. Tali Jamir.

N. William Koso obtains AFC-B License

Kohima, April 26 (MExN):
The Kohima District Football Association (KDFA) in a press release informed that N. William Koso of Nagaland has obtained (Asian Football Confederation) AFC-B License. President of the KDFA, K. Neibu Sekhose on behalf of the association conveyed its appreciation to Koso for the achievement and hopes that through his experiences many young upcoming players will be benefited and wishes him all success in his endeavour. Meanwhile, Classic Club Kohima has also lauded Koso for the achievement.

AR inter sector boxing C'ship 2011

Dimapur, April 26 (MExN):
The Inter Sector Boxing Championship of the Assam Rifles was conducted at the ARTC & S, Shokhuvi, from April 20 to 25.  Ten teams which comprised of the best pugilists from each Assam Rifles sector and recruits of ARTC & S, vied for the coveted ‘DGAR Boxing Trophy’.  Brig Vijay Singh, SM, Commandant of the ARTC & S was the chief guest for the final bout of the championship which was played on the evening of April 25. The venue was filled to capacity by enthusiastic spectators who were enthralled by a thrilling display of excellent boxing skills, courage and good sportsmanship by the pugilists.   Rifleman Subhash Limbu of 10 Sector was declared the Best Boxer, and Recruit L Hemlet Singh of ARTC & S was awarded the Best Loser’s Medal.  The Trophy was awarded to 5 Sector who earned 23 points.  10 Sector and 23 Sector with 15 points each were jointly declared as the Runners up.
