Sumi Hoho & Sangtam Likhüm Pumji appeals for peace & calm

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 19 (MExN): A Joint Coordination Meeting between the Sümi Hoho and United Sangtam Likhüm Pumji was held on January 19 at Suruhuto town, Zünheboto District to deliberate on and discuss the conflict at Sitimi village under Kiphire district.  

A joint statement from the two bodies informed that the meeting jointly resolved to appeal for calm and peace between the two communities. It further agreed that both the apex organisations would work fervently together to ensure that law and order is observed in the troubled areas. The apex organisations also appealed to displaced citizens to return and settle back peacefully in their hometown.  

The meeting also further resolved to accept the invitation of the Home Commissioner, Government of Nagaland, to a joint meeting of Sümi Hoho, United Sangtam Likhüm Pumji, Sümi representatives of Sitimi and Sangtam representatives of Sitimi town, and to let the Government of Nagaland give its judgment and verdict on the issue.
