Chümoukedima, November 7 (MExN): The tour operator training programme, an integral part of the Entrepreneurship & Skill Development Program (ESDP), initiated by the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) was officially launched at the YouthNet Dimapur Centre, Chümoukedima on November 7.  The tour operator training, an essential component of ESDP is a comprehensive six-week programme being implemented by YouthNet in partnership with India Trail as the resource partner. The Department of Tourism, Government of Nagaland, is extending its support to this initiative, recognising its potential to drive growth and innovation in the tourism industry, media cell YouthNet stated in a press release. 

During the launching event, Tali Longchar, IEDS, Joint Director & Head of Office, MSME Development & Facilitation Office, Ministry of MSME, Government of India, Dimapur presided over the event and launched the training. 

In his address, Longchar emphasised the paramount importance of the ESDP training initiatives under MSME, which are specifically designed to foster entrepreneurship and enhance skill development in the dynamic and diverse landscape of the MSME sector. He provided words of encouragement to the participants and highlighted the scheme’s goal to promote new enterprises while simultaneously strengthening the capacity of existing MSMEs.

YouthNet, Director, Nuneseno Chase underscored the transformative impact this training is expected to have on the local community and the tourism sector in Chümoukedima and the state of Nagaland. She commended the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of MSME and YouthNet in bringing this vital initiative to fruition. She also expressed her belief in the potential of the participants and their role in shaping the future of tourism in the region.  YouthNet, Nodal Officer, Razouvikhol highlighted the significance of this programme and how it aligns with the vision of fostering entrepreneurship and skill development in Chümoukedima and Nagaland as a whole.
