Dimapur, May 22 (MExN): Nagaland-based multidisciplinary design studio TRIBOLT has been conferred with the AD New Wave Award, a top honour by Architectural Digest (AD) India that recognises 25 emerging designers and studios from the Indian subcontinent for their originality, innovation, and design vision.

The award marks a significant milestone not only for the Dimapur-based studio but also for Northeast India, highlighting the region’s growing prominence in the contemporary design landscape.

“We are deeply honoured to receive the AD New Wave Award. This recognition is incredibly encouraging for our team and our collaborators, and it inspires us to continue pushing creative boundaries while staying rooted in thoughtful design,” said Ajung Yaden and Atem Longkumer, co-founders of TRIBOLT.

Known for its thoughtful and contemporary approach, TRIBOLT works across furniture, objects, and interior projects. The studio has carved a distinctive niche by blending traditional Naga wood carving techniques and tools with modern aesthetics, a design philosophy they term ‘Naga Contemporary’. Their work prioritises comfort, ergonomics, and functionality for modern homes while breathing new life into age-old craft practices.

The studio’s projects have earned attention for balancing craftsmanship, contemporary aesthetics, and contextual sensitivity. Being named among this year’s winners, the co-founders added, reflects TRIBOLT’s ongoing commitment to meaningful and enduring design.

The AD New Wave Award is presented annually by Architectural Digest India to celebrate the most promising creative talents shaping the future of design across the subcontinent.
