Tuensang SJHSS celebrates success of alumnus in Civil Service Examination

St John’s Higher Secondary School (SJHSS) in Tuensang held a felicitation ceremony on May 8 to celebrate the outstanding achievement of one of its former students, Chubalemba B Chang, who secured the All-India Rank (AIR) 915 in the prestigious Civil Service Examination (CSE) conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in 2023.

The event was graced by guests including Brigadier Vikram Singh, Commander of the 7th Sector Assam Rifles Tuensang, Colonel Neelesh Bhardwaj, Commanding Officer of the 29 Assam Rifles Tuensang, and Sentilong Ozukum, SDO (Civil) of Tuensang.

The proceedings commenced with an invocation led by Sr Clare, Vice-Principal, followed by a welcome note from the Principal, Rev Fr Sivi George. Brig Vikram Singh lauded Chubalemba's remarkable accomplishment in his address, urging students to strive for excellence and underscoring the significance of perseverance and determination in achieving one's goals.

Sentilong Ozukum expressed appreciation for SJHSS’s role in nurturing talent and facilitating interactions with accomplished individuals like Chubalemba. He encouraged students to aspire for greatness and assured them that dedication and hard work can lead to success.

Chubalemba, in his acknowledgment, expressed gratitude to his alma mater and the faculty for their guidance and support throughout his academic journey. He also seised the opportunity to raise awareness about the perils of substance abuse and irresponsible use of technology among the youth, urging his fellow students to make wise choices and prioritize their well-being.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Onounungla, an Assistant Teacher at SJHSS, expressing gratitude to all attendees for their participation and support.

Following the formal proceedings, Chubalemba engaged with the students, sharing his experiences and offering insights into his preparation strategies for the Civil Service Examination, inspiring them to pursue their dreams with diligence and determination.
