VHSNC training conducted in Kohima

KOHIMA, DECEMBER 20 (MExN): The Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Kohima along with District Health Society, NHM Department of Health & Family Welfare conducted two days training on Village Health Sanitation & Nutrition Committee (VHSNC) for Kohima Sadar & Sechü block at CMO conference hall on December 19 and 20.  

The objective of the training was to equip the participants and inform the community about the health programmes and government initiatives. The participants were also trained to enable community to participate in the planning and implementation of the programmes, and take collective action for attainment of better health status in the village.  

It also aimed to take action on social determinants and all public services that directly or indirectly affect health & health outcomes. The participants are also trained to provide support and facilitate the work of community health workers like ASHA and other frontline health care providers, who form a crucial interface between the community and health institutions.
