VM Devassy assumes charge as SBI Guwahati Circle’s CGM

Guwahati, November 29 (MExN): Vincent Menachery Devassy took the charge as the Chief General Manager, State Bank of India (SBI), Guwahati Circle on November 29. The Circle covers seven NE States. 

As per an official release, Devassy joined the SBI as a trainee officer (1992 batch) and has held various important assignments in the bank. 

He is a graduate in commerce and as well as a certified associate of Indian Institute of Bankers, it said.  

Before the current assignment, Devassy was heading the ‘Anytime Channels’ of the SBI’s Corporate Centre in Mumbai. The ‘Anytime Channels’ manages the SBI’s ATM network, Swayam Kiosks, Green Channel Counter and Cheque Deposit Kiosks of the Bank.

Apart from working in states like Kerala, Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra in various capacities, Devassy has also served as Vice President (PER& ADMIN) of SBI for four years in New York.

A career banker with experience of over 38 years, he has held various positions across a wide range of domains including Retail Banking, International Banking, IT and Wealth Management, added the release from the SBI Guwahati Circle office.
