Dimapur, July 17 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has vehemently condemned the rhetoric of Ph Nanda Kumar, Secretary, Board of School Education Manipur (BSEM) that affiliation of schools in Naga areas in Manipur is not possible and asked the Nagaland Government to realize the agenda of the Manipur people. The NSF demanded that the Nagaland Government take concrete steps.
“The Federation reiterates its earlier stand of affiliation and urges the Nagaland Government to realize the desperate attempts of the Manipuris to sabotage the process of aspiration of the Naga students and expedite all possible steps to accommodate Naga students into its board” stated a release from the NSF through its Vice-president Imchatoba Imchen. The NSF warned that it would not tolerate any obstacles that threaten the rights of the Nagas.
The NSF also termed the statement of BSEM Secretary Nanda Kumar as “false” with the intention to mislead the common people through its cheap and stupid propaganda”. “The Federation cannot in any manner agree to such concocted statements when the subject matter deals with the issues of Nagas; the Nagas’ aspiration to live under one administrative system and steps towards this end cannot be washed away by vested persons like Nanda Kumar” The NSF stated that the decision of the Southern Nagas to seek an affiliation to the nearest board i.e., Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has been justified after the Meiteis tried to impose their script on Hills’ minority people.
Asserting that the Federation is fully aware of the cheap propaganda mechanism being used to fulfill Manipur’s agenda, strongly warned “the perpetrator” to bear all consequences “in the event of thousands Naga students’ fate are put on stake.”
