It is in the interest of the historical record for the generations to come, that I am continuously writing about the lies of the renegade leaders. Because we know they know but they are still telling lies. I stand for the truth and writing against the lies because I do not tolerate with telling lies.
They know it better that when the Shillong Accord (SA) was signed in 1975, Eno Th. Muivah, the then General Secretary of the Naga National Council (NNC) was in China. The President of NNC Late A.Z. Phizo was in London. Vice President of the NNC, Late Imkongmeren was in Indian Jail. The Central Executive Committee (CEC) members of the NNC, Late KhudauYanthan and Late Yongkongwere in London along with A.Z. Phizo.None of them signed the SA or was consulted with them for the signing of the SA and neitherdid endorse or support the SA by them, but rather all of them blatantly rejected it.
However, the NSCN-IM leaders are telling lies up to date 2024. Saying; “After some members of the Naga National Council (NNC) betrayed the national trust by signing the1975Shillong Accord, the NSCN/GPRN and its leadership has been the singular symbol of Nagalim resistance and hope”. (Quoted, NSCN-IM’s statement dated May 8, 2024. Sl. No. 4 of the statement).
Eno Th. Muivah, the then General Secretary of the NNC official condemned the SA on 15thAugust 1976 in Eastern Oking (Headquarters) on behalf of the NNC. Where I was with them. Thus, it keeps a clear record of the NNC in the history.
Before it, the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) also diplomatically rejected it with an official statement issued by the Kedahge(President) of the FGN, Late ZasheiHuire dated December 30, 1975, following a resolution adopted in the Tatar Hoho (Parliament) of the FGN on 2ndDecember, 1975 at the DihomaOking. Which kept a clear record of the FGN in the history regarding the SA. In addition, when the NNC General meeting was held on May 11-12, 1978 in Khonoma village after the SA, the meeting intentionally ignored the SA.Not ratify it.So, we all know and they know about the clear records of the NNC and FGN on the matter of the Accord in the history.
Moreover, we all know and they know very clearly that in the document of the SA the names of NNC, FGN were not mentioned and neither did Naga and Nagaland as well, and yet signed it on behalf of the Underground Organizations only on November 11, 1975. But they (NSCN-IM leaders) are telling lies that the NNCsurrendered even while they are celebrating the 78thNaga Independence Day on 14thAugust 2024, which was declared by the NNC in 1947.
The NSCN-IM leaders always use to saying that Phizo did not condemn the SA. Even on the 78th Naga Independence Day celebration, Eno Atem said in an interview that Phizo did not condemn the SA. Yes, he did not condemn it because he clearly knew that it was only an invalid document, and so officially condemning it might be tantamount to recognize it.
Again, we know and they know that the Parliament of India did not ratify the SA best known to the Indian leaders alone and neither did by the Tatar Hoho of the FGN and the General Meeting of the NNC as mentioned above. Therefore, the two nations and Governments never held a single political talk based on the SA up to date, 44 years now. But then the NSCN-IM continued to tell lies that the SA was a surrendered Accord up to date.
The NSCN-IM leaders and members know the better that Late Isak ChishiSwu and Eno Th. Muivah, Chairman and AtoKilonser (Prime Minister) and General Secretary of the NSCN-IM submitted 31-point competencies proposal to the Government of India (GoI) in 2001. for demanding a State with greater autonomy under the framework of the Indian Constitution after 26 years of the SA. For that matter, the AtoKilonser and General Secretary of NSCN-IM, Enor Th. Muivah led the NSCN-IM delegate leaders and held a meeting with the Indian leaders in New Delhi in February 2007. At the said meeting, the Indian leaders brought a Constitution of India and gave it to Th. Muivah, saying; see the Constitution of India, where do you incorporate your points in the Indian Constitution? Th. Muivah took it and brought it to Nagaland and gave the task to carry out by AngelousShimrah. Yet AngelousShimrah passed away on 29thApril 2007 without starting to carry out the task. The act of the NSCN-IM was accepting the Indian Constitution. However, they are still telling lies that the NNC accepted the Indian Constitution by signing the SA, and they (NSCN-IM) claim to stand for the Declaration of Independence and Plebiscite of 1951 so as to cheat the Naga people.
Now, to implement 31-point Competencies proposal, a Framework Agreement (FA) was signed on 3rdAugust 2015 with the GoIafter 49 years of the Accord of 1975. Hence, they are now demanding shared sovereignty with the Flag and Constitution from the GoIunder the framework of the Indian Constitution. And yet, they are celebrating Nagaland Independence Day and Plebiscite Day, but on the other hand, contrarily they are saying;“We are steadfastly upholding the FA for a political solution”.That is demanding a political solution from the GoI.
It is great for all the Nagas that, from the beginning, God has chosen us as His children and has been protecting us up to date even though we are sinners He never forsakes us. It was remarkable and obvious in the eyes of all Nagas that the Naga nation was saved fromdoom by God our Lord with the signing of an accord on behalf of the Underground Organizations in between the two nations (Nagaland and India)on November 11, 1975. Truly, if it had not been God, the Naga nation might be a surrendered nation in the world. We know and they know about this a miraculous work of God to save our nation from the terrible and hazardous political situation in those days of 1975. But while they are celebrating the 78thNaga Independence Day, they are still telling lies that the Shillong Accord was an infamous accord.
Therefore, why are they telling lies up to date 44 years is questionable by every Naga. I have three points. Firstly, they wanted to shift the blame onto the NNC and FGN leaders for the killings they had committed on the NNC/FGN leaders and top Naga Army officers in Eastern Okingin the last part of 1979 and first week of January 1980 before the formation of NSCN. Because, they strongly opposed the socialism of Th. Muivah and firmly stood for the Naga traditional democracyindefense of the Yehzabo (Constitution) of Nagaland.But after the killings, they brazenly gave false charge sheet on the dead bodies that they were supporters of the SA on March 11, 1980 after the formation of NSCN.Followed as they purportedly portrayed the SA as a surrendered Accord after the formation of NSCN on January 31, 1980 and accused NNC/FGN of committing treason by surrendering the Naga nation. And labeled anyone who supports the NNC/FGN as a traitor. However, the irony lies in the fact that even Th. Muivah and Isak ChishiSwu were still upholding the highest post of the NNC, as General Secretary and Vice President, all while orchestrating the killings as mentioned above.After 28 days of the last killings (i.e. 3rd Jan. 1980), only on 31st January 1980, Th. Muivah and Isak Swu, the then General Secretary and Vice President of the NNC defected from the NNCon their own accord andon the same day formed the so-called NSCN,and also declared falsely that the NNC surrendered on that very day. So, they are doing as they had constituted for telling lies to conceal the truth reason of the killings.
Secondly, they wanted to please foreign leaders the opponents of the NNC/FGN so that our opponents can confirm that the NSCN-IM leaders are still opposing the NNC/FGN. This is their intention to keepthe Nagas disunity.Thirdly, they want to keep the NSCN-IM alive for the benefit of the leaders and members of the NSCN-IM.
Instead, I want them to realize the futility of telling lies and strive to work for the Naga national reconciliation. Because, telling lies and using the Naga nationalism for the personal interest and benefit is a problem for the Nagas now. I, therefore, urge all the concerned factional leaders to stop telling lies as we are Christians and stop doing so under the pretext of Naga nationalism for the personal interest and benefits. But do all to the glory of God. (1Cornt. 10:31).
You (NSCN-IM leaders) may believe that telling lies is a politics, as Mark Twain said; Quote “Politics is the only profession where you can steal, lie, cheat, and still be respected” Unquote.However, we the Nagas are not for politics at this contemporary juncture, but we stand for the Naga nationalism. After we achieved our national goal, then only to play for party politics will be followed. Therefore, we should not play for politics to tell lies, steal, and cheat at this juncture. Instead, we shouldstand for the truth in the principle of Christian ethics.As Jesus said; “You will know the truth and the truth will make you free” (St. John 8;32).
