Workshop on routine immunization strengthening held in Wokha

WOKHA, MAY 19 (MExN): A district level workshop on Routine Immunization Strengthening and Vaccine Preventable Diseases Surveillance was conducted for health workers of Wokha district at CMO Conference hall Wokha on May 17. District Immunization Officer, Dr Thungchanpeni Patton briefed the trainees on the importance of the workshop and welcomed the resource persons.

The topics covered in the one day session included national immunization schedule, importance of communication, supportive supervision, vaccine preventable diseases surveillance, importance of routine immunization for children. 

Resource persons for the workshop were Dr Sheila Longkumer, Senior Medical Officer (WHO) and Dr Pangjung, Social and Behaviour Change Communication Officer (UNICEF) Kohima. A refresher session on U-WIN and eVIN was also taken by Chumdemo, VCCM Wokha. More than 40 participants from various health units in the district attended the training.
