DIMAPUR, APRIL 4 (MExN): The Yimkhiung Akherü Arihako (YAA) has directed all government teachers posted in schools within Yimkhiung jurisdiction to be at their place of posting on or before April 8 and discharge their duties unfailingly.
In a press statement, the YAA said it has received numerous complaints of teachers posted at various government schools under the Yimkhiung jurisdiction neglecting their duties in such a manner that some are not at the place of posting since the beginning of the current academic session.
It also alleged that some teachers have engaged proxy teachers, which it pointed out, is unequivocally a ‘deliration of duty’ as a public servant, and more so, an act that absolutely oppresses the students’ pursuits of quality education.
Cautioning that it will not tolerate such irregularities under any circumstances, the YAA has directed and empowered all the YAA federating units to strictly implement its Federal Assembly Resolution No 18 (Act 2022) that prohibits the engagement of proxy teachers. It also directed the federating units to keep a check on teachers’ performance of duty and take action on the defaulter as deemed fit, or forward it to the YAA office for further necessary proceedings.
