Yoto Chizo, a skilled Muay Thai athlete from Nagaland, bagged bronze medal at the East Asian Muaythai Championship 2024, held in Wan Chai City, Hong Kong from November 28 to December 1.
In Indian National Muaythai Team, led by Coach Hemavi from StrikeFit Academy, Nagaland, competed valiantly.
Among the 10 Indian athletes, Yoto emerged as one of the medalists, while fellow athlete from Nagaland, Aboto Ayemi was eliminated in the first round.
The Indian team displayed impressive performance, securing a total of six medals:1 Silver and 5 Bronze.
Meanwhile, Chizo on his arrival at Dimapur Airport today, the Western Chakhesang Hoho, Western Chakhesang Student Union, Western Chakhesang Women Association and Western Chakhesang Youth Organisation accorded warm welcome to him.
