Youth festival cum Sükrünye enters second day in Phek

The week-long youth festival cum Sükrünye held under the aegis of Phek Town Youth Society (PTYS) entered second day today in Phek town. It is being celebrated with the theme ‘Tapping the feats.’  

Gracing the day 2 event as host, Phek Town Council (PTC) former chairperson Kupota Khesoh said the Chakhesang people are bold, honest and humble. In this, he urged upon the people to continue to adopt the moral values as practiced by the ancestors. He also lauded the PTYS for reviving traditional legacy by organizing such youth festival. The programme was chaired by Shekhoto Rhakho, while Kuluvelu Swuro entertained the crowd with special appearance.  

Later, 19th Phek A/C NPF president Api Vadeo graced the evening session as host. The day 2 event was marked by bamboo stilt race, cart race, bow shooting, trumpet blowing, long jump, spear throw, sack rally race, quarter indigenous, fusion song, and Mr & Miss Sükrünye contest. Er. Dr. Vekho Swuro will grace the day 3 event as host.
