DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 18 (MExN): The Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE) has notified all Commercial Training Private Institutes within Nagaland and centers running Computer/Hardware Courses and IT related Courses, to desist from awarding diploma certificates without the approval of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi, and with training duration less than 3 years. The notice issued through the DIPR informed that any institute flouting these rules would not be granted further extension to run the institute and certificates of students from such institutes would be treated as null and void. The directorate informed that it has been issuing orders to such institutes to the norms and guidelines set by the department. It however stated that there are many institutes still running the courses by awarding "Diploma" in the certificates, which cannot be used until and unless it is recognized by AICTE (norms & guidelines). It further informed that training duration less than 3 years can result in only certificate course and not a diploma.
